Realtor: $49M Estate Once Owned by Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt

A glamorous estate in Beverly Hills once owned by Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston is up for sale. On the market for $49 million, it’s this week’s most expensive new listing on realtor.com®.

The home’s Hollywood history dates back to 1930s when it was built for the actor Fredric March, star of “Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde." Designed by the architect Wallace Neff, a major exponent of the California style, the “meticulously upgraded” space has “kept all the architectural integrity of a bygone era,” according to the listing details.

“It’s been extensively renovated on the inside, although the outside looks like it did in 1934,” says listing agent Susan Smith with Hilton & Hyland. Smith notes the price is set in the right range, citing the recent sale of Adam Levine’s $45 million Beverly Hills flip.

“We officially decided to go on the market just under $50 million, based on recent comps that have sold,” Ms. Smith told Mansion Global. “We’re not looking to test the market, we’re selling this home at a realistic price.”

The price tag is $7 million less than the $56 million it was expected to be listed for, according to an April report. 

The four-bedroom home was built in 1934 for two-time Academy Award winning actor Fredric March, famed for his roles in “Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde,” (1931) and “The Best Years of Our Lives” (1946).

Los Angeles Times: Santa Monica’s Palisades Beach sees its most expensive home sale since 2012

Things are heating up down by the beach.

On Palisades Beach Road in Santa Monica, a gated estate on the sand has sold for $9.975 million — the highest price paid for a single-family home in the small beachfront area in seven years, records show.

The property hit the market in February for $8 million and sold for almost $2 million over the asking price.

Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt's former home is now for sale.

Pitt and Aniston were married for five years before breaking things off and getting divorced in 2005. While the two were married, the former couple lived in a lavish Beverly Hills estate, which has been listed on the market for $56 million, The Wall Street Journal reported.

According to listing agent Susan Smith of Hilton & Hyland, the 12,000-square-foot property was designed by Hollywood architect Wallace Neff and dates back to the 1930s. Actor Fredric March and his wife, actress Florence Eldridge, were the original owners of the lavish estate.

A Beverly Hills estate designed by Hollywood architect Wallace Neff, and extensively remodeled decades later by then-owners Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt, is coming on the market for $56 million.

The approximately 12,000-square-foot estate dates back to the 1930s, when Mr. Neff designed the property for actor Fredric March and his wife, actress Florence Eldridge, according to the listing agent, Susan Smith of Hilton & Hyland. Mr. Neff was known for building some of the most recognizable estates of Hollywood’s Golden Age.

The property was later owned by philanthropist Wallis Annenberg, who sold it to entertainment attorney Ken Ziffren, Mr. Ziffren said. Mr. Pitt and Ms. Aniston bought the property from Mr. Ziffren for about $13.5 million, according to public records, and spent more than three years remodeling it. They added heated marble kitchen floors, a private screening room and, for a pub room, wood floors imported from a 200-year-old French château.
